The church features a raised presbytery (chancel) accessed by steps leading up to the high altar, which is in pietra serena and of simple design. At the level of the high altar, the ceiling becomes a barrel vault that ends in the conch of the central apse, structurally echoing the entrance vestibule. Mounted above the vault, on the forward wall, hangs the large crucifix brought here from the Church of Santa Maria in Metelliano.

The two lateral apses are also preceded by barrel vaults, situated lower than the vault above the central altar. Each apse has an altar: on the right stands an architectural element bearing the IHS monogram (an abbreviation of the name of Jesus), above which is a majolica copy of the Madonna del Conforto of Arezzo. The altar in the left apse has a small tabernacle with a crucifix.

A modern statue of Saint Joseph with the Child stands between the central and left altars, set against the half-pier where the last arch of the side aisle springs. Small hanging statuettes of the church’s patron saint adorn the walls of the central apse and the right-hand half-pier.
